For those of you expecting an unsatisfying, empty calorie, popcorn fest you better check your appetite at the door. District 9 is a slow cooked, flame kissed, filet of science fiction that is unlike anything I’ve ever seen. It’s fills you up, leaves you satisfied and surprisingly doesn’t give you the “Hershey Squirts” the next day.

The Invasion is a remake of the 1950’s sci fi film, “The Invasion of the Body Snatchers”. Hollywood has already produced two remakes and one TV spin off. I guess folks really relish in the idea of invaders coming to Earth and snatching our bodies. This latest iteration was driven by a large budget and a couple of sexy stars.

After Gremlins came out in 1984 it seemed like copy cat films hit theatres\VHS every few months. Of all the knock-offs, Critters would end up being my favorite. The main draw is the titular, fuzzy balls of munching mayhem, better known as The Krites. They’re malevolent space creatures, but I’ve got a soft spot in my heart for them.
